Between the seventies and eighties it organized seven editions of the Vivaldi Festival, in collaboration with the Teatro La Fenice, while since 1990 it has organized the 'Antonio Vivaldi International Recordings Award for Ancient Italian Music' for 12 consecutive years. Since 1980 it has published an annual magazine, 'Studi Vivaldiani', distributed all over the world. In collaboration with the University of Venice, it published the series 'Venetian musical drama', 30 facsimile editions describing the evolution of melodrama in Venice from 1640 to 1800. has published 'Vivaldiana', a series of facsimile scores. The Institute also publishes a series, 'Quaderni vivaldiani', with the publisher Olschki including the study conferences organized since 1978, and extensive monographic essays on the life and work of Antonio Vivaldi. The critical edition of the Theatrical Works is being published, composed of Operas, serenades, oratories and single arias. All the instrumental music (about 550 titles) and the sacred and profane vocal (87 works) have been published with the editor Ricordi.
The main activity of the Italian Institute Antonio Vivaldi consists in the preparation and publication in modern edition of the music of the Red Priest. The Istituto Italiano Antonio Vivaldi, founded by Antonio Fanna in 1947 and part of the Giorgio Cini Foundation since 1978, preserves, in copy, all the music - manuscripts and printings of the time - written by Antonio Vivaldi, as well as modern editions of the same, monographic essays and a rich audio and video documentation, available to scholars for consultation. The promotion carried out first of all by the Museum in the historic center of Venice does not exclude further future projects, studies and exhibitions.
